Who we are
This website belongs to Dunelm Cottage, a holiday rental cottage at Mill Cottages, Edale, Derbyshire S33 7ZA, United Kingdom, hosted by Ben. Bookings are taken through Airbnb and Booking.com; this site itself takes no bookings and stores no personal data.
What we collect
- Analytics: we use Umami, an open-source analytics tool self-hosted by our web developer, to count page views and understand which content visitors find useful. It sets no cookies and stores no identifier on your device. It records the page, the referring site, your approximate location, browser, device type and how fast the page loaded. We do not use advertising cookies and do not sell data.
- Heatmaps and replays: Umami also records scrolling and clicks, to show which parts of a page get attention and to replay a visit as it happened. It records the page, not your screen, and masks anything typed into a form.
- Booking clicks: when you click through to Airbnb, Booking.com or another site we record which one was clicked, so we know which channels to maintain. No personal information is attached.
- Server logs: Cloudflare keeps standard security logs for the operation of the site.
Third parties
- Umami (measurement) — self-hosted by our web developer; the data goes to no one else.
- Google Fonts and Font Awesome CDN (fonts and icons) — requests to these CDNs are covered by their own policies.
- Airbnb and Booking.com — if you book or message us there, those platforms process your data under their own terms; we only see what they share with hosts.
- Cloudflare — serves and protects this website.
Your choices
Analytics sets no cookies. Turning off JavaScript stops it entirely, and the site works fully without it. To ask anything about data handling, message @edale.dunelm on Instagram or use the contact page.
